Nominations Sought for Women’s Awards
The Ventura County Commission for Women is accepting nominations for its 12th and final annual Salute to Women of Achievement Awards.
The nomination deadline is Jan. 31.
A dozen women will receive awards in 11 categories: arts, business, community service, education, entrepreneur, legal, media, public service, science/health, sports and outstanding young women. Two women will receive community service awards.
Winners will be announced during a banquet in Camarillo on March 25.
Officials said the awards will be discontinued after the banquet so that the commission can better address “the barriers that hinder many women from becoming economically self-sufficient.”
