HUNTINGTON BEACH : Literacy Tutors Sought to Work With Adults

Share

Volunteers are needed to help adults learn reading and writing.

The city’s Adult Literacy Services will conduct tutor training workshops on Jan. 17, 19, 24 and 26.

The workshops will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Meeting Room B at the Central Library, 7111 Talbert Ave. Participants will learn to tutor using an individualized approach that emphasizes goal-setting.

After participants complete the four workshop sessions, they will be matched with an adult and will work with that person for at least two hours a week. Volunteers will arrange their own tutoring schedules.
