A former Motown songwriter already facing one count of murder for the slaying of a Woodland Hills man will also be charged with the shooting death of a 25-year-old Chicago woman whose body was found last June outside Castaic, authorities said.

The Los Angeles district attorney’s office plans to amend the original murder charge today to add a second murder charge stemming from the death of Digna Adames, 25, whose body was found outside Castaic on June 14, Sandi Gibbons, a district attorney’s office spokeswoman said late Wednesday.

Adames was an aspiring musician and a member of a female trio in Chicago. Her partners refused, but she accepted Goga’s offer to come to Los Angeles with him where he promised to hook her up with the right people in the music industry, police said.

Adames left a 7-year-old son behind in Chicago and called back home almost every day until June 10, her father’s birthday, when the calls from her stopped.

Police believe that Goga became infatuated with Adames, and referred to her as his girlfriend to other people. Adames, according to friends and relatives, tried to maintain a business relationship with Goga, police said.

Goga, 50, was originally charged with the murder of Charles (Chick) Evans, 60, a retired movie technician who took in the songwriter. Evans’ body was found in his Del Valle Avenue home by a suspicious neighbor on Dec. 7, and police believe that Evans was killed after he ordered Goga to leave his home.

Goga was picked up by police officers in Huntington Woods, Mich., on Dec. 10 when Mary Danescu, his half-sister, called police to report a prowler in her back yard.

“There’s not a lot we can say about this case until he comes back and there is a preliminary hearing,” Gibbons said.

According to family members, Goga’s life began to come apart about two years ago, after he divorced his wife of six years. After that, Goga moved around a lot, often staying with friends for short periods of time. Danescu said for a brief period Goga lived in his car after the divorce.
