Unisys to Cut 4,000 Jobs Worldwide: The Blue Bell, Pa.-based company, accelerating its transformation from a computer maker to an information services provider, will also take a one-time pretax charge of $175 million to $225 million for the fourth quarter to cover severance and other layoff-related expenses. Unisys said its performance has been disappointing as sales of traditional hardware and its maintenance business have slowed.
