Government: Filling a Vacant City Council Seat
In your article re: appointment of a councilman to save money (“Applicants Sought for Vacant Council Seat,” South Bay, Dec. 8), the City of Rancho Palos Verdes can save a lot of money if they are serious about their stated aims.
What they should do is to appoint their politically appointed Director of Public Works Trent Pulliam to the council and vacate the position. The work can easily be assumed by City Manager Paul Bussey with no decrease in performance. These moves would guarantee large savings for the city and stop the waste going on.
