Danes, Argentines Win in Saudi Arabia

Goals by Brian Laudrup and Martin Weighorst gave European champion Denmark a 2-0 victory Sunday over host Saudi Arabia in the second Intercontinental Cup in Riyadh.
The Danes will play CONCACAF champion Mexico, a 2-0 winner over the Saudis last Friday, on Tuesday, with the winner advancing to the tournament final on Friday.
In Sunday’s second match, Argentina had little difficulty in defeating Japan, 5-1, behind two goals by Gabriel Batistuta and one each by Sebastian Rambert, Ariel Ortega and Jose Chamot.
The South American champions play African champion Nigeria on Tuesday. Nigeria beat Japan, 3-0, last Friday.
