OXNARD : Professor Named to Nationwide Program
An Oxnard College professor has been chosen to participate in a nationwide program that trains female administrators and faculty members.
Evangeline Wilkes-Vacca, chairwoman of the language arts department, is the third Oxnard College professor to participate in the program sponsored by the American Assn. of Women in Community and Junior Colleges, as well as other education institutions.
The Leaders program will offer several workshops on planning, budget and human relations skills.
Wilkes-Vacca, who has a doctorate in psychology from World University in Ojai and a law degree from the Ventura College of Law, was chosen for her interest in higher-education advancement.
The yearlong program, which includes several seminars across the country, begins today in Scottsdale, Ariz.
