Investigators searched Friday for clues to explain Wednesday’s airliner disaster in which 51 people died.

Civil Aviation Authority Director Alvaro Raad said technical problems appeared to be the most likely reason why the 28-year-old DC-9, on a flight from Bogota to Cartagena, plunged to the ground. Only one passenger survived, 9-year-old Erika Delgado.

Capt. Estefan Gomez, the head of the crash investigation team, said there were no signs of an explosion inside the plane before the crash.
