Miller’s Name in Expansion Draft Is the Latest Ram Question Mark

Share

The Rams signed quarterback Chris Miller last year to a three-year, $9-million contract, then benched him in favor of journeyman Chris Chandler. They said Wednesday that Miller would have to be considered the team’s quarterback in 1995, but still announced they will making him available to Jacksonville and Charlotte in next month’s expansion draft.

Confused?

In his first official act, Steve Ortmayer, the departing Rams’ new vice president of football operations, said the team had submitted the names of running back Howard Griffith, linebacker Chris Martin, wide receiver Richard Buchanan, running back Tim Lester, defensive end Gerald Robinson and Miller to the league for the Feb. 15 draft, thinking both teams will pass on the quarterback because of his contract and history of injuries.
