Trimedyne Inc.: The company said Wednesday that it has filed a lawsuit against Surgical Laser Technologies Inc. in Oaks, Pa., for infringement of two patents held by Trimedyne. Both patents cover the use of lasers that cause the vaporization of tissue.

In the suit, filed in the U.S. District Court in Santa Ana, Trimedyne alleges that Surgical Laser Technologies is using the technology in surgical instruments it manufactures.
