Lawn Swing for Beginners

Amateur do-it-yourselfers looking for an easy lawn swing project will find that this one fits the bill. It uses inexpensive, heavy-duty schedule 40 PVC pipe (usually used in plumbing), features a removable canopy and seats two adults comfortably.

Here’s all you need: a total of about 100 feet of PVC pipe, four yards of canvas-like fabric, 18 feet of standard chain, four cushions, adhesive and assorted hardware. The only tools required are a hacksaw, drill, screwdriver and wrench, along with some sandpaper, a tape measure, pencil, square and straight edge. A sewing machine (or needle and thread) is optional.
