U.S.-Vietnam TV Venture Planned: The $92-million project would broadcast local and international programs in Vietnam, the official Vietnam News reported. At least 25 channels would carry domestic and world news, entertainment programs and foreign-language courses in the cities of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Danang and Can Tho, subject to government approval, the newspaper said. The joint venture includes Hoa Binh Ltd. of Vietnam and Satellite Microcable Corp. and Vina Pacific Corp. of the United States. Other partners include General Instrument, ITS, Standard Communications and California Amplifier of the United States.
