LOS ANGELES : Boy Testifies in Mother’s Trial for Mutilating Father

A Los Angeles teen-ager testified that his parents fought frequently in the days before his mother allegedly severed his father’s testicles with a pair of scissors.

Jimmy Macias appeared hesitant and reluctant to testify against his mother, Aurelia, at her retrial on a charge of battery with great bodily injury.

In a barely audible voice, he told a Los Angeles Superior Court jury this week that his mother and father, Jaime, fought “a lot” before the Sept. 20, 1992, attack.

“Were they verbal or physical arguments?” asked Deputy Dist. Atty. Lydia Bodin. “Both,” he answered, adding that his father sometimes hit his mother.

Aurelia Macias allegedly cut off her husband’s testicles while he slept after an argument in which she accused him of having an affair.
