Countywide : Timetable Changes for Amtrak’s San Diegan
- Share via
Beginning Monday, Amtrak will change the departure times for most of its San Diegan trains in anticipation of the new Oceanside-to-San Diego Coaster commuter service that will get underway Feb. 27.
The San Diegan trains run daily between Santa Barbara and San Diego, and make Orange County stops in Fullerton, Anaheim, Santa Ana, Irvine, San Juan Capistrano and San Clemente.
In conjunction with the schedule changes and the new Coaster service, Amtrak will no longer stop at the Del Mar station as of Monday. The trains will stop instead at the new Solana Beach station, which should be completed by mid-March.
The new station, 105 Cedros Ave. at Lomas Santa Fe Drive, will have about 650 parking spaces for rail passengers. The Del Mar station only has about 150 spaces.
