STANTON : Terry Matz to Reclaim Post of City Manager

Share

Former City Manager Terry Matz is returning to Stanton to resume his old job.

Selected from a field of four candidates by the City Council, Matz replaces outgoing City Manager Greg Hulsizer, whose last day on the job was Tuesday.

Hulsizer resigned to take a job as general manager of the SR 91 Express Lanes Project, a privately funded toll road designed to relieve congestion on the Riverside Freeway in Orange County.

Matz, who currently manages the city of Agoura Hills, previously served as Stanton’s top administrator from July, 1989, to May, 1993. His salary will be $85,000.

“It’s a unique opportunity, and I really enjoyed managing the city when I was there,” said Matz, a Commerce resident who will begin his new job March 1. “I also live fairly close to the city, so it will be an easy commute.”

“Terry has a real love for Stanton,” Mayor Harry Dotson said. “The City Council and I were unanimous in our support of his appointment.”
