LOLLA-LAND: The concert tour won’t start until July and no acts have been announced yet, but Lollapalooza ‘95--the fifth edition of the touted alternative-rock caravan--will officially be kicked off on March 1 . . . in cyberspace. That’s the launch day for a Lollapalooza Internet site, with an inaugural forum to be conducted by tour founder Perry Farrell.

From there on out, the entire Lollapalooza media campaign--participant interviews, schedule announcements, etc.--will be done via the Internet rather than through conventional channels, says tour spokeswoman Heidi Robinson. During the concerts, digital photos will be uplinked to the site and fans will be able to e-mail artists backstage.

“If you’re not on the Internet, you won’t really experience Lollapalooza this year,” says Robinson.

First announcements of acts on the tour’s lineup are expected to be made soon, with speculation rampant that Neil Young and Hole will top the bill.
