Share

Westside residents have been named winners in a contest aimed at improving the design of public amenities ranging from information stands to rest rooms.

The competition, “Civic Innovations,” was sponsored by the Los Angeles Forum for Architecture and Urban Design, a nonprofit architecture and urban design group.

Winning art projects will be on display at the UCLA Extension at the Third Street Promenade gallery through Feb. 24. Engineers, urban designers and landscape architects were asked to address how to improve urban amenities. Winners received a $1,000 cash award for first place and $500 for second place.
