Man Slain in Little Saigon Restaurant

An unidentified man was shot to death Sunday night by an unknown assailant in a restaurant on the outskirts of Little Saigon, police said.

Police were called to the Dong Khanh restaurant in the 10400 block of Bolsa Avenue at 9:17 p.m. by witnesses who said a man had been shot, said Lt. Richard Main of the Westminster Police Department. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, Main said.

“The indication was that somebody came inside the restaurant and fired a gun,” Main said. “We don’t know if it was a random shooting, a robbery, a gang-related thing or what. We will investigate all these things.”

Main said no weapon was found and the caliber of the gun used in the shooting was not immediately known.

Officers were seeking a man of apparent Asian descent, about 21 years old, who may have driven away from the restaurant in a black or brown Datsun 280Z, Main said.
