Lawyers to Dissolve Practice, Join Rival

Prominent entertainment lawyers Charles Silverberg, Steve Katz and Diane Golden are dissolving their law firm to join Mitchell, Silberberg & Knupp.

The three will bring with them such clients as actor Ed Asner, actress Jessica Lange, writer Michael Crichton and such companies as Dick Clark Productions and Nickelodeon.

The move will mean the end of the entertainment law firm Silverberg, Katz, Thompson & Golden on March 1.

Mitchell, Silberberg & Knupp already has one of the largest entertainment law practices, with such clients as actors Tom Cruise, Paul Newman and Jack Nicholson and writer Anne Rice.

* Robyn Kerner was named director of marketing for the consumer marketing division of Jim Henson Productions.

* Eliot Sekuler has left his position as head of publicity at Virgin Records.

* PolyGram named Rick Dobbis president of PolyGram Continental Europe and a member of the international management board, succeeding the retiring Allen Davis.

* Turner Pictures named Joy Every vice president of feature animation development and Ilene Hoffman director of feature animation development.

* MGM/UA Home Entertainment named George Feltenstein as senior vice president of worldwide marketing.

* Don Fly is leaving Boss Film Studios, where he was chief financial officer.

* Tonya Bates has been appointed to the newly created position of vice president of sales and service for VideoScan.

* Chris Montan will leave as senior vice president, music, at Walt Disney Studios to produce films for the studio and advise it on music-related projects.
