Coldwell Banker Names S. California President

Bob Le Fever has been appointed president of Coldwell Banker Southern California Co. in Mission Viejo. He will oversee 21 San Diego region offices and 13 Orange County offices. Le Fever succeeds Tom Williams, who is retiring after 20 years with the residential real estate company. Le Fever was formerly senior vice president and general manager of Prudential Atlanta Realty and, before that, executive vice president and partner in Prudential California Realty, based in Southern California.

* Michael Blanton has joined Deloitte & Touche LLP in Costa Mesa as senior tax manager. He previously worked in the Los Angeles office of the accounting, tax and consulting firm, in the international tax specialty group.

* Carroll Campbell, former governor of South Carolina, has joined the board of directors of Fluor Corp., the Irvine-based engineering, construction and diversified services company. Campbell, president and chief executive of the American Council of Life Insurance, recently completed his second term as governor of South Carolina.

* Arne R. Salvesen has been appointed president of Morehouse-Cowles Inc., a subsidiary of Summa Industries in Fullerton. He succeeds James R. Swartwout, who will continue as chairman and chief executive officer of Summa. Previously, Salvesen was president of Heidelberg West Inc. and served as president of several units of Rockwell International and Mark Controls Corp. Morehouse-Cowles is a manufacturer of paint, ink, adhesives and other specialty chemicals.

* Jo Ann S. Milam has been appointed a vice president of Holmes & Narver Inc., an Orange engineering, architecture and construction management company. Before joining the company, she was a consultant for private firms, managing environmental and energy-related programs. Milam was with the U.S. Department of Energy from 1980 to 1989, serving as division director of policy integration, chief of staff to the undersecretary and manager of the San Francisco operations office.

* Sam Schorr has joined Aurora Electronics Inc. in Irvine as vice president for information systems, a newly created position. He is responsible for all of Aurora’s information and telecommunications services. Schorr was previously vice president for management information systems at IDB Communications Group Inc. and, before that, director of systems development for L.A. Gear Inc.

* Stephen White has joined the board of directors of Brian Pharmaceuticals Inc. in Laguna Hills. He has also been appointed chairman of the company’s research advisory committee and product development committee. White is a professor in the department of physiology and biophysics at UC Irvine’s College of Medicine.

* Kathleen M. Mitchum has been appointed client manager for the Costa Mesa office of Johnson & Higgins, an insurance broker. Before joining Johnson & Higgins, she was a vice president at Marsh & McLennan for 17 years.

* Mike Donnelly has been appointed 1995 president of the Seniors Housing Council in Tustin, an arm of the Building Industry Assn. of Southern California. Donnelly is the Los Angeles-Ventura regional manager for Goodman-Hixson & Co., an Irvine home sales and marketing firm.

* Sandra Waite has been appointed vice president at Esquire Communications Ltd., a court reporting and litigation support services company. She will remain general manager of the company’s Sarnoff Deposition Service offices in Santa Ana, Los Angeles and San Diego. Her new responsibilities include overseeing Esquire’s West Coast operations and growth of the company through acquisitions.

* Douglas Purcell has been appointed director of sales and marketing for Roland Digital Group America, an Irvine maker of computer-controlled cutting machines. He joined the company in 1988 as a regional sales manager. He previously held sales management positions with Software Products International and Encad Inc., both in San Diego.

* Curtis L. Gray has been appointed division director of human resources and administration for Rockwell Defense Electronics’ Autonetics Electronic Systems division in Anaheim. Gray, who joined Rockwell in 1983, was most recently director of employee relations for telecommunications at Rockwell’s Digital Communications division in Newport Beach.

* Lisa Ruben has been appointed to the position of media relations manager for Mazda Motor of America Inc. in Irvine. She was previously a senior account executive for Mazda’s public relations agency, Hill and Knowlton Inc.

* Andrew Valainis has been promoted to regional manager for American Golf Corp., a Santa Monica-based golf operations company. He will maintain his duties as general manager of the Rancho San Joaquin Golf Course in Irvine and assume responsibilities for five additional properties in Orange County.

* Doris Berry has been named director of advertising for PacifiCare Health Systems, a Cypress managed health-care services company. She joined the company in 1993 as manager of research and market analysis. And Ellen Santoni was appointed director of marketing communications and creative services, and Linda Whitehead was appointed director of communications services.

* Robert J. Perret, Jr. has been named chief executive of ASM Company Inc., an Orange manufacturer of accessories for airless spray equipment. He continues as president, an office that he has held since 1989.

* Beverly Swenson has been appointed a vice president in the community banking credit center at Union Bank. She is a commercial and consumer loan officer coordinator at the Santa Ana office.
