Man Shot Outside Market Dies
A man critically injured in a weekend shootout at an Arleta convenience store has died of his wounds, police said Monday.
Gilberto Lopez Ibarra, 21, of North Hills died about 11 p.m. Sunday at Holy Cross Medical Center, Los Angeles Police Detective Rick Plows said. Ibarra was shot five times in a gun battle with another man earlier that day outside a 7-Eleven store in the 9000 block of Woodman Avenue.
The other gunman fled and remains at large, Plows said.
