A Garden Grove woman was listed in critical condition Tuesday after she and another woman were thrown out the back window of a car when their vehicle collided with two others late Monday night.
Lieng Tran, 43, was sent to UCI Medical Center in Orange with head injuries, a broken spine and other internal injuries after the car she was in ran a red light and slammed into two othercars, Westminster police said.
Another woman, Thu Buy, 24, also of Garden Grove, was sent to the medical center with head injuries and was listed in fair condition.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Westminster Avenue shortly after 11:30 p.m. when a gray Honda carrying Tran and Buy crashed almost head-on into an oncoming car, said Lt. Mike Schliskey of the Westminster Police Department.
A third car sustained minor front fender damage when the cars slid into another lane, Schliskey said.
An Pham, 50, of Westminster, who was driving the Honda, was not hurt.
Schliskey said no charges have been filed but “the investigation’s still pending.”
Suhn Buy, 24, of Garden Grove, another passenger in the Honda, suffered minor injuries, as did Wade Trombley, 20, of Long Beach, who was in the first car that was hit. Both were taken to Huntington Beach Medical Center, where they were treated and released.
