LA PUENTE: A fire that sheriff’s officials say may have been deliberately set caused $250,000 worth of damage Monday night to two stores in the 15600 block of Amar Road. Damage was reported to Monique’s Beauty Supply and Show for It Beauty Shop. No injuries were reported. Investigators say they suspect a flammable liquid was used to set the fire.

POMONA: Police seized a methamphetamine lab at a residence Saturday and arrested a man on suspicion of manufacturing the drug illegally. James Kenneth Magdalena, 26, was arrested at 3 p.m. in the 1800 block of San Bernardino Avenue and was taken to Pomona City Jail.

POMONA: An armed robbery suspect who had eluded police since December was arrested Friday night. Jesus Felix Jr., 20, of Pomona was apprehended in his home in the 1400 block of South Gibbs Street at about 10:15 p.m., police said. Felix had been wanted since he allegedly robbed two Pomona teen-agers of jewelry on Dec. 30, 1994. He allegedly drove up to the victims as they were riding bicycles near Park and Lexington avenues, pointed a gun at them and took a necklace.

POMONA: Two Pomona men were arrested Friday night after police broke up an alleged drug-dealing operation. Robert Jack Garcia, 36, was arrested at 6 p.m. on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine and marijuana for sale at his home in the 300 block of La Mesa Street. He was taken to Pomona City Jail and held in lieu of $15,000 bail. Arthur Jaimie Garcia, 49, was arrested at the residence for an alleged outstanding warrant. The two men are not related. Police, responding to complaints, had kept the home under surveillance. Officers reportedly seized methamphetamine valued at about $4,000, as well as shotguns, handguns and one pound of marijuana.

WEST COVINA: A 21-year-old Riverside man who was on his way to a party with friends was shot in the leg Sunday after an argument at a fast-food restaurant, police reported. Curtis Wilson was shot at about 1:15 a.m. outside the In-N-Out Burger in the 2900 block of East Garvey Avenue, police said. Wilson was taken to Inter-Community Medical Center, where he was treated and released. No arrests have been made in the attack.
