The director of the Getty Conservation Institute has been named to a national cultural advisory committee by President Clinton.

Miguel Angel Corzo was sworn in Jan. 31 as a member of the Cultural Property Advisory Committee in a White House ceremony. He is the only California representative on the 11-member committee, which works to prevent the importation of stolen cultural property into the United States.

“This is a significant honor for me because it recognizes the importance that is given to cultural property and its protection worldwide by the United States government,” said Corzo.
