Ram Fan Remembers Team’s Better Days
John Shaw likes to deny things. What he can’t deny is this: The fan base exists for the Rams. It was there when the Rams went 11-5 in 1980 (first year in Anaheim), one year after their Super Bowl appearance. It was there in 1983, the first year for John Robinson and Eric Dickerson. It was there in 1984, 1985, 1986, 1988 and 1989.
This was a proud, winning team. Nonetheless, Shaw cashes in and decides that the team should be sold off like a Corvette at a chop shop. It isn’t right, it smacks of fraud and hopefully the league will discover what was done intentionally. Perhaps we really will have a team in Anaheim next year, preferably with new owners and Mike Ditka for a coach. And you won’t need permanent seat licenses to sell season tickets.
