Spray Can Replacements Will Cost Armor All

Share

In a move that will pare $1 million or more from its fourth-quarter earnings, Armor All Products said Monday that it will ask retailers to replace aerosol cans of its QuickSilver Wheel Cleaner with an aerosol can containing an improved spray device.

The company said it expects to incur a one-time charge of about 5 cents per share against fourth-quarter earnings because of the change, which was prompted by internal testing and consumer input, a spokeswoman said. The company found that the current aerosol spray device clogs and prevents the purchaser from using all of can’s contents.

The QuickSilver cleaner is also sold in a conventional trigger spray bottle that has not subject to clogging.
