Tustin : School District Wins Desirability Award
An educational consulting firm that helps parents find the best public schools for their children has rated the Tustin Unified School District as one of the best in the nation.
SchoolMatch placed the Tustin school district among the top 9% of the country’s 15,625 school systems for meeting the needs and desires of families choosing schools, officials said.
The consulting firm maintains information about all public school districts in the country. Client companies use the information when they relocate employees or operations. More than 300 companies nationwide use the service.
The firms gave a What Parents Want award to school districts that provide consistently high academic standards, offer a variety of programs, including athletics and art, and emphasize educational technology.
Students at Foothill and Tustin high schools have consistently scored higher than the national and state averages in the annual SAT tests, officials said. More than 90% of students from both high schools go on to college, they said.
