REDONDO BEACH : No Charges to Be Filed in Roommate Battle

Share

The Los Angeles County District Attorney has found insufficient evidence to pursue charges in a roommate squabble involving onetime state Assembly candidate Julian Sirull and council-watcher Chris Boyle.

The protracted battle between the two started with a January argument in their Esplanade apartment over the volume Boyle had on the TV set. After a fight, Boyle ended up at the hospital and Sirull was arrested on misdemeanor battery charges.

Boyle got a restraining order against Sirull, who ran against Assemblywoman Debra Bowen (D-Marina del Rey) in last year’s election and is considering running for Assembly again in 1996.

“As far as I am concerned, this episode is behind me, it’s over,” Sirull said. “Case closed.”

Boyle disputed the district attorney’s decision. “My injuries didn’t just appear. How, at this time, the district attorney finds insufficient evidence, I’ll never know,” he said.

Meanwhile, Boyle has agreed to move out, and Sirull will move back in on March 1.
