BOND TICKER : O.C. Municipal Water District Joins Challenge to Bankruptcy
The Municipal Water District of Orange County joined in a legal challenge to the bankruptcy petition by the Orange County investment pool Thursday, said attorney Joel Miliband, who is representing the district.
The water district is the third pool participant to file such a motion. The Sacramento-based Special District Risk Management Authority filed last week and the Yorba Linda Water District filed its motion earlier this week.
All three are arguing that the pool was not entitled to protection under federal bankruptcy law because it is not a governmental body.
