Logicon Finalizes Syscon Purchase: The Torrance company said it has completed the deal to buy Syscon Corp. from Harnischfeger Industries Inc., using existing cash resources to meet the $45-million price tag. Syscon will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Logicon Inc. Syscon is headquartered in Falls Church, Va., and has major offices in the Virginia cities of Arlington, Dahlgren and Virginia Beach; Gautier, Miss.; Newport, R.I., and San Diego. The company specializes in systems engineering and software development for the Defense Department and other government clients. Logicon is a leader in providing advanced technology systems and services to support national security, civil and industrial needs.
