BALDWIN PARK: A 19-year-old Baldwin Park man was found shot in a car Sunday night at the intersection of Baldwin Park Boulevard and Los Angeles Street. Henry Enrique Garcia was taken to a local hospital where he was listed in extremely critical condition after the shooting about 7:30 p.m., sheriff’s deputies said. No further information was available.
EL MONTE: A suspect is in custody after a 17-year-old El Monte girl was raped Saturday night while walking through the courtyard of an apartment complex. The girl was pulled into a vacant apartment in the 4500 block of Huddart Street just before 8 p.m. by a man who raped her and fired at her with a handgun, police said. The shots did not hit the girl. Police arrested Jose Leon Levya Rivera, 19, of El Monte, on suspicion of attempted murder, kidnaping and rape. He was held without bail in the El Monte City Jail.
