PC Sales in China Expected to Reach 1 Million for Year: The recent 40% annual growth rate in personal computer sales is projected to continue in 1995, with $6.4 billion in sales projected for the year, China Daily said. Foreign companies dominated the market with an 80% share. Sales by the first Sino-U.S. computer joint venture, China Hewlett-Packard Co., rose 25% to $250 million in 1994. IBM’s sales rose 40% to $200 million, the paper said.
