An Oak View man has pleaded guilty to federal tax evasion, the latest conviction in an extensive false-billing and kickback scheme at Point Mugu Naval Air Station, federal authorities said Tuesday.
Teddy Ben Robinson, 45, admitted to preparing false invoices for phantom industrial merchandise that was billed to Point Mugu, authorities said. He also pleaded guilty to failing to report income earned from those phantom billings.
No military hardware or military personnel were apparently involved, the statement said.
Robinson also admitted to failing to report all his earnings from training horses, which included cash winnings from horse competitions, U.S. Atty. Nora M. Manella said in a news statement.
Robinson will face up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine at sentencing, scheduled for April 17. He could not be reached for comment.
