It’s Time to Overhaul Mountains Conservancy
* In regard to your Jan. 10 interview with Joseph Edmiston, executive director of the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy, let me say:
We in the community who have worked to acquire parkland for the future had it much easier before we created the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy. Never did we envision a Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy board which allowed its executive director to tell it what to do. We envisioned a board with a comprehensive grasp of the Santa Monica Mountains that followed a plan and directed its executive director to implement these plans.
The idea that Mr. Edmiston is the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy is indeed warped.
Changes are in order. Let’s send Mr. Edmiston and the fancy bureaucrats on the board back to Sacramento where they came from. Lets get knowledgeable citizens appointed to the board who have backbone and integrity.
