LOS ANGELES : Lawyer, Judge Appointed to Judicial Review Panel
A lawyer from Los Angeles and a former federal judge who lives in Pasadena were appointed to the state Commission on Judicial Performance, Gov. Pete Wilson announced Wednesday.
Patrick M. Kelly, 51, of Los Angeles has been a partner for 14 years at Wilson, Elser, Moskovitz, Edelman & Dicker. He was appointed to a two-year term.
Robert C. Bonner, 53, of Pasadena is a partner with Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, a position he has held since 1993.
The former U.S. attorney for the Central District of California also was a federal judge and headed the Drug Enforcement Administration. Bonner, appointed to a four-year term, is scheduled to represent Heidi Fleiss in her federal tax evasion case.
The Commission on Judicial Performance handles complaints against judges and investigates charges of misconduct against judges. Members do not receive a salary, and the appointments do not require state Senate confirmation.
