Fullerton Boy Injured by Passing Pickup
A 3-year-old boy playing in front of a friend’s house Saturday ran into the street and was struck by a passing vehicle, police said.
Gino Lusca suffered severe head trauma and was taken to UCI Medical Center, where he was in critical condition late Saturday, officials said.
Police said the boy was playing in the front yard of a home in the 600 block of West Rosslynn Avenue about 3 p.m. when he ran into the street and was hit by a pickup truck driven by Julio Rojo, 30.
“The driver will not be charged,” Fullerton Police Sgt. Neal Baldwin said. “There doesn’t seem to be any violation of the law here. The guy just couldn’t stop in time and hit the child.”
