SANTA BARBARA--Discover downtown galleries, studios, museums and other art-filled spaces during “Art About Town,” March 17-19. Participants take self-guided tours of the State Street area, noon-5 p.m. Saturday-Sunday. Refreshments, poetry readings, lectures, demonstrations, music and more are offered in many of the participating galleries and studios, 2-5 p.m. Saturday. (805) 966-5373.
MURPHYS--The spirit of the Emerald Isle comes to Calaveras County for Murphys Irish Days, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. March 18. Main Street is filled with Irish music, dance, food and drink, games and other festivities. Free. Also featured: A wee-folks parade for kids at noon, and a treasure hunt. OJAI--Revelry and pageantry cover the shores of Lake Casitas at the fourth annual Ojai Renaissance Festival, 10 a.m.-dusk, March 18-19. $6, general; $5, students; $4, kids 4-12 and seniors; free for those 3 and under. ESCONDIDO--Hand-painted porcelain treasures are showcased at the “Reflections of Spring” exhibit, 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. March 25 in the Veterans’ Memorial Building, 230 Park Ave. China painters of Escondido display their art and offer demonstrations. $2. (619) 940-8843.
BORREGO SPRINGS--The sixth annual “Circle of Art” show and sale, is 10 a.m.-6 p.m. March 25-26 in Christmas Circle. Featured in the juried fine arts show are paintings, photography, sculpture, ceramics and jewelry. (Free admission.) (619) 767-5374.
