SIMI VALLEY : Police Seeking Driver of Car That Hit Boy

Share

Simi Valley police were looking Sunday for the driver of a car that slammed into an 8-year-old boy, causing serious injuries to the youth.

Investigators said the victim, who was not identified, was struck about 7:30 p.m. Saturday along the 2400 block of Royal Avenue by a car that witnesses were not able to describe.

The vehicle probably sustained some damage to its left front, investigators said.

On Sunday, the boy was listed in serious condition in the intensive-care unit at Simi Valley Hospital. He apparently was playing in front of his home when he darted into traffic without looking, police said.

The driver fled westbound on Royal Avenue without stopping, authorities said. Police arrested a motorist late Saturday, but said Sunday that the suspect in custody was not the hit-and-run driver.
