TUSTIN : Driver Sought After Crash Injures Man

Police are seeking the driver of a 1983 Nissan Maxima who they say early Sunday left the scene of an accident that left a man hospitalized and on life support.

The victim was a passenger in the car when the driver ran into a light pole in the 1600 block of Nisson Road in Tustin. The pole fell on the car, injuring the passenger.

Afterward, the driver abandoned the vehicle, leaving the injured man unattended until police arrived and had him transported to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, Tustin Police Lt. H.D. Williams said.

Police did not know the identity of the driver or the victim.
