Ladies Who Lunch Are Well Served for Spring

If happiness is the return of “Dynasty” reruns to cable’s FX channel, then it must have been sheer bliss for fans at a recent fashion show at Rothschild’s restaurant in Corona del Mar.

The afternoon event benefited the City of Hope National Medical Center and its research efforts to find a cure for AIDS and related cancers.

Titled “The Look of Spring,” the clothes, presented by the neighboring Denise Z boutique, befit the lunch crew ladies who do life in heels and gilded accessories.

There were plenty of leggy suits: jackets worn open or cinched with wide belts and shown with 19-inch skirts. But no feature was as obviously favored as those obvious shoulder pads--big, broad and bodacious. Hair--and sometimes plenty of it--was styled by Allen Edwards.
