Ford Recalls Some Explorers: Ford Motor Co. is recalling its 1995 Explorer sport-utility vehicles made through the middle of February to replace a steering system part. The auto maker is also recalling some of those vehicles to reposition the brake lines because stopping distances may exceed those allowed by federal regulations. The first recall involves about 51,000 two- and four-door Explorers made from late November until mid-February to inspect and replace an inner tie-rod assembly that may have been installed incorrectly. Ford has received nine reports of fractured tie rods in vehicles with low mileage.
