OXNARD : Man Dead at Scene of Rollover Accident

Share

A 32-year-old Oxnard man was killed after the vehicle in which he was traveling overturned along Hueneme Road, the California Highway Patrol said Monday.

Investigators said an eastbound Chevrolet Blazer carrying German Rosete and at least one other occupant rolled four or five times before coming to rest in the center divider about 9 p.m. Sunday, just east of Edison Drive.

Rosete was thrown from the Blazer onto the roadway.

Minutes after the Blazer rolled over, a second car--described as a blue Chevrolet Camaro--apparently struck Rosete as he lay on the road, and also collided with the Blazer, the CHP said.

Rosete was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials said they could not determine whether Rosete was driving the Blazer, although a passenger who suffered a broken leg told investigators that Rosete was behind the wheel.

It was unclear whether Rosete was alive when he was hit by the Camaro, investigators said. The driver of the Camaro fled the scene on foot and is being sought for questioning, authorities said.
