World IN BRIEF : AFGHANISTAN : Faction Leader Slain After Killing Captors

The leader of one of Afghanistan’s factions tried to commandeer a helicopter in flight and shot to death six of his captors before being shot and killed, said a member of the group holding him. Abdul Mazari, leader of Hezb-i-Wahdat, was being transported by the Taliban militia.
