RETURN TO GLORY? Ernani Bernardi is back on the saxophone. And he’s blowing the same old tune. . . . The former big-band saxophonist-turned city councilman has released a videocassette featuring 18 of his favorite tunes. His goal: to finance his ongoing battle with the Community Redevelopment Agency, a longtime foe (B4).

DECISIONS, DECISIONS: Thomas Johnson was expecting to spend Sunday at his sister’s wedding. But then he won a radio contest featuring a private concert by Fleetwood Mac’s Dave Mason at Johnson’s West Hills home . . . also on Sunday. Which choice did he make? You guessed it. . . . “It’s a bummer,” Johnson said of jilting his sister, “but I never have to worry about her showing up at my wedding because I’m never going to get married.”

HEADING WEST: The NCAA’s Big Sky Conference is considering Cal State Northridge and two other American West Conference schools for membership (C6). . . . CSUN officials expressed interest in joining the Big Sky, which was the top-ranked Division I-AA football conference in the nation last fall. Other members include Idaho State, Montana and Northern Arizona.

Ever since Hartman’s matchmaking skills were detailed in Sunday’s Times, customers have been lining up outside her Burbank restaurant to join her singles club.
