One of two men suspected of holding two residents at knifepoint in their home and robbing them Thursday was arrested an hour later in Los Angeles County, authorities said.
About 6:30 a.m., two men entered the home of a man and a woman in their 30s on South Acacia Avenue through a front door that was left ajar, Police Sgt. Glenn Devenay said. They woke up the residents and while one of the robbers held the victims, the other went through the house and took cash and belongings, he said.
As the robbers fled, the victims wrote down the license plate number. About an hour later, Los Angeles Sheriff’s deputies saw a station wagon with that license plate, police said. As they pulled it over, both the passenger and driver ran. The passenger, Victor Hernandez, 22, of Norwalk, was arrested after a short foot chase, Devenay said. The driver remained at large.
Hernandez was being held on suspicion of armed robbery, possession of stolen property and possession of methamphetamine in lieu of posting $100,000 bond.
