Quilting Classes Part of NAMES Project

Share

A portion of the NAMES Project AIDS Quilt will be on display from April 6 through April 8 in the University Student Union at Cal State Northridge.

To prepare for the show, CSUN is hosting free workshops in which people can learn to make panels for the quilt. Each panel represents a person who has died of AIDS.

The panels that are made at the workshops will be added to the AIDS quilt.

According to NAMES project officials, the first time the whole quilt was shown in 1987, it was made up of 2,000 panels.

The display will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. April 6 and 7 and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 8. There is no admission or parking fee to view the quilt.
