Racetrack Firm Seeks Tax Breaks for Expansion: Santa Anita Cos. said it filed an application for tax breaks with the city of Arcadia as the company seeks to develop its Santa Anita Racetrack property into a gaming and entertainment complex. The plans for the development include movie theaters, live performance sites, virtual reality theaters, specialty retail shops, restaurants, a sports bar and an ice skating rink. The Arcadia-based thoroughbred racetrack operator said the development, which is subject to review and approval by the Arcadia City Council, is expected to create more than 2,300 permanent jobs and generate more than $2.3 million in municipal revenue annually when completed.
