Airbus Sees Mideast as Biggest Aircraft Market: Airlines in the region are expected to buy more than 600 planes in the next 20 years, an Airbus Industrie official said. Habib Fekih, vice president for Middle East sales for the European airplane-making consortium, said that Gulf Arab states, North African countries, Iran and Iraq would provide the biggest markets. “We expect to get part of this potential market,” he said while on a visit to Dubai. Airbus currently has 67% of the Middle East market, he said.
