Rockwell Will Realign Two of Its Out-of-State Units

Share

Rockwell International Corp. on Wednesday announced several organizational realignments at its two automation business units, Allen-Bradley in Milwaukee and recent acquisition Reliance Electric in Mayfield Heights, Ohio.

The moves include the creation of a division for drives and motion controls, to be headed by James Kinsella, who was a senior vice president of Allen-Bradley’s power group. The new group, to be based in Milwaukee, include drives and motion controls units from both Allen-Bradley and Reliance.

Also, Reliance’s programmable controller business will be combined with a similar Allen-Bradley unit into an automation group based in Cleveland.

Rockwell, based in Seal Beach, acquired Reliance Electric for $1.6 billion earlier this year in a move that combined the company’s strengths in industrial motors and mechanical power-distribution products with Allen-Bradley’s controls. Rockwell is keeping almost all of Reliance’s 14,000 employees.
