NORTH HILLS : Contract Awarded for New VA Facility
- Share via
The Sepulveda Veterans Administration Medical Center has awarded a $46.7-million contract to a Long Beach contractor to build its new Ambulatory Care Center.
The Nielsen-Dillingham Builders Joint Venture broke ground Friday and will attempt to finish the hospital’s new three-story, 238,000-square-foot facility sometime in August of next year.
The project will complete the Sepulveda VA’s efforts to switch from a residential hospital to outpatient treatment.
The change was prompted by severe damage to the 431-bed hospital in the Northridge earthquake.
Construction projects still to come at the hospital include a new boiler plant, a communications and computer facility and seismic renovation of the older buildings.
